Yasodhara Dress in Indigo Soul

Our stylish Yasodhara Dress in Indigo Soul is comfortable for everyday play or for dressier days. Beautifully detailed with a mandarin collar, coconut shell buttons for style, sustainability and a reminder of all things tropical, it has tab sleeves for year-round wear. This smooth organic cotton was dyed and discharge printed for us by hand by a Bangalore print studio using natural dyes and gum resins.

Motif + design: The design of Yasodhara was, like our Traditional shirt, inspired by Sri Lankan Sinhala national wear. The lovely motif is the well-known boteh (known in English as ‘paisley’), originating from Persia, widely used in Kashmiri and Indian textiles since the 15^th century and later linked to the town of Paisley in Scotland.

Fabric: Organically grown cotton, discharge dyeing + printing method using natural dye + natural gum resins

Made:  In India under fair trade working conditions

Care: Gentle machine wash cold using mild detergent. Do not scrub. Line dry in shade.

* Please be aware that block printing does contain what some might consider ‘imperfections’. These are not faults, but sign of the human process by which the fabric was printed. We believe these slight differences give our items character and evidence the wonderfully human element present during their making.
