It features our exclusive hand-sketched lotus bud motif which has been block printed by hand by using traditional methods. We choose coconut shell buttons for style, sustainability and a reminder of all things tropical 🙂

Design inspiration:
- Inspired by the beauty and serenity of the lotus bud – motif hand sketched by Buddhika
- In Sri Lankan culture, the lotus flower (‘nelum’ in Sinhala) is renowned for its spiritual significance. The Lotus can be found in ancient cave art, ancient cities and modern architecture and cultural practices.
Care: This dress can be machine washed on a short gentle, cold cycle using mild detergent, however hand washing wherever possible can help to keep this item in the best condition. Do not scrub. Line dry in shade.
* Please be aware that block printing does contain what some might consider ‘imperfections’ ie the print will not be exactly the same all over the fabric. These are not faults, but sign of the human process by which the fabric was printed. We believe these slight differences give our items character and evidence the wonderfully human element present during their making. It makes your item truly one of a kind.
